World Water Day
Supervisor Adelita Grijalva’s District 5 Office invites the community to join events honoring of International World Water Day on March 22, 2022.
World Water Day highlights the importance of fresh water and advocates for the sustainable management of freshwater resources, issues close to home for Arizonans. Arizona is facing a 20% loss of its supply from the Colorado River in 2022 in the first-ever federally declared water cuts.

Tuesday, March 22nd, at 12:30pm- 1:30pm
Supervisor Grijalva's District 5 Office will be hosting this space to encourage the community to learn more about the Santa Cruz River Heritage Project and the challenges we face as a desert community with water conservation. Thank you to the City of Tucson Interim Assistant City Manager Timothy Thomure and the University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center for presenting at this event! Bring your questions! There will be a Q&A after the presentations.

Santa Cruz River Cleanup for World Water Day
Saturday, March 26th at 9:00am- 11:00am
Garden Gethsemane, 602 W. Congress St.

Join Pima County Supervisor Adelita Grijalva, Tucson City Councilmember Lane Santa Cruz, and Tucson Clean and Beautiful to honor World Water Day by cleaning up our very own Santa Cruz River Wash in Tucson.
Be sure to bring a water bottle, wear comfortable clothing, close toed shoes, and sunscreen.

Catch water from your shower and use it to water plants.

Go to a carwash instead of washing the car yourself.

If you have a double sink in your kitchen, fill one side with water and put used dishes in it to soak while you are cooking. They will be easier to wash that way without using so much water.
